Who is going to pay for my medical expenses following my Florida car accident?

The question of who is going to pay for your medical expenses is quite complicated. There could be multiple sources of recovery for your medical expenses. The first place we look in the state of Florida is your no fault or PIP insurance, or personal injury protection insurance.

This covers up to $10,000 of your medical bills at a rate of 80%. The next place we look is Med Pay, whether or not you have Med Pay insurance, which is optional in the state of Florida, but of course recommended.

We look at bodily injury insurance next. That would be the at fault driver’s insurance, and so if they have liability or bodily injury coverage, that would pay for your medical expenses.

Finally we look at both the vehicle that you were driving in, or your own personal uninsured or under insured motorist coverage, and that’s the final source where we look to help pay for your medical expenses.
