What if I am injured in Florida by a car with no insurance while walking or riding a bike?

In Florida, everyone is required to have a no-fault insurance. Even if someone is injured while walking or riding a bike and they’re struck by someone that doesn’t have insurance, if they have their own insurance, their own PIP insurance or no-fault insurance in Florida, that will help out to pay the medical bills up to $10,000. In addition to that, whether you’re a pedestrian or a bicyclist, you can also use your own insurance if you have uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage. This insurance is also sometimes called UM insurance. Basically you would file a claim against your own insurance and that would require your insurance company to step in the shoes of the driver with no insurance, and that would be basically the same thing. You’d be able to reach a nice recovery against your own insurance company.
