Can I choose my own repair shop following a Florida car accident?

If you’re involved in a motor vehicle accident and you’re trying to choose your own repair shop to repair your car, whether or not you’re allowed to do that is actually a complicated issue. The way to determine whether or not you have that right number one is to determine who’s actually going to be paying to repair your car. If it’s your own insurance company then you’ll have to go to your own insurance contract to determine whether or not you have that right. If it’s the adverse party or the defendant’s insurance company then you absolutely do have the right to choose your own repair shop.
